Listopica. The future is vibrant.

Listopica. The future is vibrant.
We stand today on the precipice overlooking an expanse shimmering into the distant haze of the future, one being born from a seething cauldron of revolutionary activity as profound as the molten metal foundries of the last 250 years that poured into modern mechanized industries that brought us to this day.
Listopica, part of this revolution, seethes with its own global opportunity.
Entirely new industries now gestating in minds and being reared in laboratories will soon burst forth to the surface. Most will be information technologies, environmental, materials, and digital. All will have global impact.
Industries of the future, only in their earliest stages, include:
- macrobiotics: miniature robots built from atomic particles to unclog sclerotic arteries ;
- machine translation: telephone switches and other devices to provide real-time translation between people conversing in different languages;
- underground automated distribution systems to reduce urban traffic congestion
- custom-designed organisms that will help clean up the earth’s environment; and,
- digital highways into the home, already beginning to deliver the world’s storehouse of knowledge and entertainment instantly
The foundries of the future are recasting existing industries in new molds. Education, health care, transportation, banking, publishing, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, retailing, and others – are being rapidly and profoundly transformed. Cars, already with onboard navigation to get you there directly, will include collision avoidance systems to get you there safely. Electronic books and personally tailored multimedia educational curricula are quickly replacing mass-market printed textbooks. More surgeons will operate on distant patients by remote-controlled robots, while disease prevention via gene replacement therapy will keep fewer from needing surgery at all.
Collectively, these opportunities represent trillions of dollars in potential future revenues and hundreds of billions in newly created wealth. Unrealistic numbers? In 1992, one company estimated the potential market for information services in the home via interactive TV to be worth at least $120 billion per year, with specific sector estimates:
- home video $11 billion
- home catalogue shopping $51 billion
- video games $4 billion
- broadcast advertising $27 billion
- other information services $9 billion
- and more
Beyond representing huge wealth transfers, they will fundamentally transform how the globe lives and works – as did the telephone, car, and airplane did for the 20th century, only with much greater speed.
No single company, region, or nation can control all that is needed to bring these opportunities to the surface of everyday reality. Technologies and skills remain diverse, while orchestrating far-flung leading-edge customers, technology providers, and suppliers results in markets around the globe emerging at different speeds. Global distribution is necessary to seize and retain the rewards of leadership and to fully amortize investments associated with funding such orchestration.
And just like the early stage of these transformative industries, Listopica itself is at an early stage, poised to capture newly emerging global opportunities.
At Listopica the future is now. There is no clean line of demarcation five years out to separate short term from long; instead, the line tightly intertwines the two.
Companies today are competing for the privilege of parenting the infant industries of
tomorrow’s large-scale opportunities. Alliances are being formed, competencies are being assembled, and experiments are being conducted in nascent markets – all to capture a share of the global future by casting the molds from which opportunities emerge.Companies seething with revolutionary activity that both hold to a clear vision of where to take their industry and orchestrate resources will receive the large-scale spoils of the newly created future. The rest, companies and individuals alike, will merely ride passively on vehicles built by others to destinations determined by others, receiving their just yet modest rewards.
The Listopica Team
It takes a special team of people to create the company that casts molds from which the future emerges. At Listopica Corporate, we have assembled a stellar team – from management to webmasters to marketing and sales professionals. We are proud and honored to have them on Team Listopica. And they themselves are proud of the legacies that they are now creating and will steward in the future.
Sincerely,
Joe Podian
